A character
to rival that of the Meg/Calliope line, and a very satisfying first
udder. We've retained her daughter
by Halifax, Scylla. I do not think there is one thing I would change
about JoJo as a second freshener--she's a nearly perfect little
gem (how appropriate.) I am particularly happy about the balance
of her udder viewed from the side--it has that lovely foreudder
extension that is so often lacking in Nigerians. In 2009, on her
scond freshening, our linear appraiser commented that her udder
was very close to an E this time, and would probably get there with
one more freshening. JoJo got dried off early in 2009, inadvertently
(don't ask) which was a disappointment because she seemed set to
earn her star on butterfat, though she might have fallen a bit short
on milk that first time on test. We expect her to earn it easily
this year. Meanwhile she is 2/3 of the way towards her dual championship,
having twice beaten out her somewhat more celebrated herdmates Tiger's
L'ily, Chiaroscuro, and Electra. She may be little, but she is mighty.
