A beautiful
daughter out of reliable champion Skylark, sired by the late Halifax. Not
quite as long and elegant as her stunning 3/4 sister Vesta,
but very solid in general appearance with outstanding feet and legs,
much like her dam. Named quite fittingly by my favorite adopted
daughter, Libby. Freshened with a small but fairly well attached udder. After producing quads her first freshening, and triplets her second, less than 9 months later, Luna freshened for the third time as a 3 year old with nice twins...for a total of 9 kids in less than 2 years...and looks great. Okay, I meant to give her the summer off, but she had other ideas. I had to admit finally this time around that her udder leaves something to be desired, but I was very happy when our 2013 appraiser said unambiguously that she is a keeper, because she is so strong in other areas of the scorecard. She earned solid Vs and Es across all the structural categories, one of my few does to do so, including Es in rear legs and back. She really only falls down in medial and teat placement...normally dealbreakers for me, but one reason I do linear appraisal is to try and keep perspective on the whole goat in context of my whole herd, and Luna is a good object lesson there.
